Yorktese, Malkie, Morkie: The Maltese-Yorkie hybrid is a small breed dog that has a unique look. The Morkie first appeared in the 1990's with its floppy ears and long, silky multi-colored coat. It has remained popular and is becoming more common among dog owners. While the Morkie has differing temperaments from one dog to another, it is a very intelligent animal that is easily trained.
Yorkshire Terrier
I am half Yorkie. I get it from my dad's side of the family. Here is some basic information about this part of me.
History
This was a working class dog breed at the start of its existence. The Yorkshire Terrier, or Yorkie, was originally bred to catch rats in clothing mills. Its name came from the city in which the breed was born. Eventually, Yorkies left the workforce to become companion dogs.
Appearance
The Yorkie's long, silky hair was considered to be the ultimate product of the loom back in its mill working days. It has a "blue" and tan coat, with a well-proportioned, compact body that ends in a docked tail. It is a very small breed dog, weighing seven pounds on average.
Personality
A Yorkie makes a great companion, with its loving, devoted personality. They can be quite energetic and "yippy" at times, but they don't need to burn their energy on long walks. Small dogs like Yorkies can usually burn most of their energy indoors, although they do love to play outside and socialize.
